One Family's Story

The McDonald family, after a year long wait for rental assistance, was able to lease their Housing Choice Voucher in-place .

Teresa, a stay-at-home mother, was devastated after a tragic car accident claimed the life of her husband in 2002. The family's sole income was her husband's private business. Teresa now had to handle the family finances, which were primarily expenses; her young family also had to work through their loss.

Teresa, Dillon, Kayley, and Colton are moving forward and with their Housing Choice Voucher Rental Assistance they don't have to worry about having a home.

"If it wasn't for Walla Walla Housing Authority, I don't know where we would be today. We couldn't get through the month-to-month struggle -- the assistance has really saved us."
